Science communication - cross pollination between art and science
Join us for a Science Cafe - Pop-up at Nansensgade
Together with Visual Science we will host the Science Café at Nansensgade. Dr. Elena Bollati, Marine Biology, KU and visual artist Maja Friis will give an introduction to their joint work with the immersive audio-visual exhibition Breathing Coral.
After the cafe the exhibition Breathing Coral and the bar will open.
“Working on Breathing Coral gave me the opportunity to visualise coral bleaching using new tools that are normally not available in a scientific laboratory. In 10 years working with corals, I have measured this phenomenon countless times but I have always looked at it indirectly, through signals, numbers, graphs. But now for the first time, I felt like I could truly witness coral bleaching. The video technology allowed me to notice movement patters that my previous approaches had overlooked."
